(That means hello in Welsh!)

I’m Gareth, a 14-year-old Welsh Mountain Goat from the beautiful Frostfire Peaks, where the mountain air is fresh, the rocks are steep and the views stretch for miles. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

I’m very proud to be the youngest Guardian of Frostfire Peaks. Guardians in my family have watched over the mountains for generations, so I’ve got some very big hooves to fill! It’s a great honour, and I always do my very best to look after my home and everyone who visits it.

I come from a very large Welsh family, so life is never quiet for long! My favourite cousin is Bryn. He can test my patience from time to time, but he’s family, and family always comes first.

Some of my friends say I’m grumpy. I prefer to think I’m sensible! Someone has to stop Alaska Bear charging into trouble before he’s thought things through… although I have to admit, life would be rather boring without him.

If someone needs help, I’ll always be there. I might have a little grumble along the way, but doing the right thing is always worth it.

Tidy!

Some of my friends say I am. I prefer to think I’m sensible! Someone has to stop Alaska Bear rushing into trouble before he’s thought things through. Mind you… life would be rather quiet without him.

Of course I do! Being brave doesn’t mean you’re never scared. It means doing the right thing even when you are. Crossing Mistvale Bridge wasn’t easy, but someone needed our help.

Fresh blackberry leaves and tender shoots. Alaska keeps telling me to try Mossberry cake, but I think I’ll leave that to him!

That’s something we say where I come from in Wales. It means something is really good or just right. So if I say, “Tidy!”, you know I’m happy… even if I don’t look like it!

I’d never admit this if Alaska was standing here… but it’s probably him. He has an amazing talent for turning an ordinary walk into an unforgettable adventure.
